Situated high upon a wooded hillside, just inland from Lake Michigan’s sandy shores, sits a contemporary glass and cedar structure; a marriage of geography and architecture that was years in the making. Completed in June of 2019, the home, called Highview for its abundant offering of the woodland vistas that surround it, was a manifestation of design brought about by the land’s topography. When designing Kevin’s personal home, he wanted the blackened steel and cedar from the entrance to flow throughout interior spaces. The large light filled rooms are a great backdrop for modern, as well as classic art pieces. Vintage together with custom furnishings, neutral textured fabrics, rugs, add warmth and comfort to spaces throughout this contemporary, yet organic modern home.
